The PKO Olsztyn Half Marathon will make its debut during the first weekend of October. The event aims to establish itself among the most important road races in the northeastern part of the country.

The PKO Olsztyn Half Marathon is designed to be an adventure—a great way to spend time actively with friends. It’s a bit like a date or a night out on the town.

We are observing trends in the running community and seeing a massive influx of young people. For them, simply participating in the races—and even the training process itself—is what truly matters. The finish time doesn’t matter; what’s more important is being together and sharing the experience.

Maciej Stroiński

Press Officer of the PKO Olsztyn Half Marathon

For years, PKO Bank Polski has been supporting the largest running events in Poland, actively contributing to the development of physical activity and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The partnership with the PKO Olsztyn Half Marathon is yet another step toward building a strong brand presence in the mass sports segment.

Running teaches consistency and perseverance. At the same time, it contributes to improving the physical and mental health of Poles—and fostering the development and well-being of our fellow citizens is a core value embedded in PKO Bank Polski’s sponsorship strategy. As the title sponsor, we are proud to support this new initiative, which has the potential to inspire and unite the community of runners and fans alike.

Together with the event’s title sponsor, the organizer has prepared a special offer. PKO Bank Polski personal account holders will receive a 20% discount on the race package, based on the current price tier. The discount is available to the first 1,000 people who indicate they are PKO Bank Polski customers during registration. Full details are available in the terms and conditions.

A Half Marathon Unlike Any Other

The organizers aim to create an event that truly stands out from other Polish half marathons. In Olsztyn, youthfulness and the sheer joy of running are set to take center stage.

Securing PKO Bank Polski as our title sponsor is a massive boost for the project and a powerful validation of its potential. Together, we want to create an event that is accessible to everyone—from first-timers to ambitious amateurs—while promoting an active lifestyle throughout the Warmia and Masuria region.”

Michał Drelich

Director of the PKO Olsztyn Half Marathon

The weekend’s main event will be the half marathon race, scheduled for Sunday, October 4th, at 9:00 AM. Certified by the Polish Athletic Association (PZLA), the route will take participants through the city streets and its immediate surroundings. During the race, runners can wear headphones to take part in a unique “silent disco” experience. Both the start and finish lines will be located at the Urania Arena. The organizers plan to unveil the detailed route in the coming weeks.

The excitement kicks off a day earlier. On Saturday at 8:00 PM, a 5-kilometer night run will get underway. This option is aimed at beginners taking their first steps in running, as well as anyone who prefers shorter distances. The evening timing guarantees an incredible atmosphere, which will be heightened by a spectacular light show.

One Mile – Running is Joy

The weekend will wrap up with the Family Mile—a recreational race covering a distance of one mile (approximately 1,600 meters), scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 PM. This event is dedicated to children, teenagers, and their guardians. With no official timing and a medal for every participant, its goal is to encourage family fun and help build healthy, active habits.
